The 2022 Night-time Visit to the Queen’s Head at Yehliu Geopark, will be held again from 15 April to 1 May 2022. Yehliu Geopark’s famous mushroom rocks and the Queen’s Head will be presented amid light projections, turning the coasts into a wonderland. Those taking part in the Yehliu Night Tours will visit Queen’s Head, Cute Princess Rock, and other interesting rock formations, and walk around Linying Lake, all of which will be illuminated. This year, the light show will take place every 30 minutes at the geopark from 6:20 pm to 9 pm each evening. Visitors can expect to enjoy a “symphony of rocks and light” composed of ocean waves, strange rocks, light projections, and music at the Geopark!
The majestic mountain of Mount Fuji, provides the backdrop to many of the experiences that can be enjoyed whilst visiting Shizuoka. Here is a suggested itinerary by Local Travel Partners, with three popular spots around Mt Fuji, to visit: Lake Tanuki Begin your journey from Shizuoka station. Meet your guide and travel to the beautiful Lake Tanuki, a journey that takes 90 minutes. This lake is where Mt Fuji’s inverted reflection on the lake surface, from the morning sun, forms the famous Double Diamond Fuji – usually around 20 April and 20 August. Shiraito Falls and Otodome Falls Shiraito Falls, is where thousands of thin streams flow from the cliff face to give the appearance and name, literally meaning “White Thread Waterfall”. Spanning 200 metres wide and 20 metres high, Shiraito Falls, is one of Japan’s most beautiful waterfalls. Otodome Falls is located 5 minutes walk from Shiraito Falls and is formed by the main stream of the Shiba River. Approximately 25 metres high, these thundering falls are a complete contrast to Shiraito Falls, yet still very scenic to view. Superb Diving and Dive Focus Conference at Papua New Guinea Major U.K. tour operators experienced the superb diving in PNG at TUFI and Madang resorts, before attending The Dive Focus Conference. During the conference they had the opportunity to meet with ground handlers, diving experts and hoteliers and learn more about the amazing prospects for divers that PNG offers. Whilst in Port Moresby, the capital of Papua New Guinea, the group stayed at Airways Hotel, which has welcomed dignitaries from all over the world including Prince Charles and Camilla and the late President Kennedy. Chef Eyck Zimmer to Prepare Special Dining Experience at Outrigger Konotta Maldives Resort for Easter 2019 Acclaimed chef Eyck Zimmer will be Guest Chef at the Outrigger Konotta Maldives Resort at Easter 2019. Zimmer will host two five-course dinners in the resort’s Driftwood restaurant on Sunday 20th April and Monday 21stApril. He will be joined by a sommelier who will pair wines with each course. One of the truly great talents in modern haute cuisine, Zimmer has won accolades such as Portuguese Chef of the Year 2008, British Chef of the Year 2006, Meilleur Ouvrier de Grande Bretagne 2000, and Ordre Du Merite Agricole, to name a few. This will be Zimmer’s 2nd outing at the Outrigger in the Maldives following a successful guest chef stint in 2017. Zimmer was born in Erfurt, Germany in 1969. “In those days of the Cold War, Erfurt was part of East Germany. But I was lucky to grow up in a family where good food was always appreciated. Both my grandmother and my father were keen amateur chefs. Singapore Airlines named ‘Best Airline’ and assists with the transport of Europe’s only southern koalas to the UK October been a busy month for Singapore Airlines. The carrier is delighted to have been named ‘Best Airline of the Year’, ‘Best Asian Airline’ and awarded for having the ‘Best Cabin Staff’ and ‘Best Economy Class’ by Business Traveller UK readers. At the same time, the airline has just assisted in creating a brand new International Koala Centre of Excellence in the UK. Working closely with Longleat Safari Park, a Singapore Airlines cargo aircraft flew five koalas and two wombats (their closest relatives) from Adelaide to the UK as part of a conservation project designed to help protect this vulnerable species. Alongside studying these beautiful animals, the new UK based population will provide a bio-secure back-up population safe from disease and bushfires in case the need should ever arise. The new arrivals are Europe’s only southern koalas and have been settling well into their new home in Wiltshire.
